Development opportunity for closed town-centre pub

A long-running pub at the heart of a Nottinghamshire town, which closed earlier this year, has come on the market – with the potential for redevelopment.

The Twitchel Inn in Long Eaton, just outside Nottingham, had been successfully trading as a pub for almost 20 years before closing in July. The venue is now being marketed for sale by Birmingham based, licensed property specialists James A Baker.

The inn, which has a large commercial kitchen, up to 5,200 square feet of ground floor space, a first-floor function room, and private living quarters, is on the market with a guide price of £395,000+VAT.

Elliot Morrell, surveyor for James A Baker, said the property offers considerable scope for local public house operators and restaurateurs, as well as potential for a range of alternative uses, subject to the correct planning permissions.

“The Twitchel closed earlier this year and has now come on the market offering fantastic potential to the right buyer.

“The venue underwent significant investment three years ago, and provides a large trade area, with a bar area for up to 70 customers, dining area for up to 65 people, as well as a function room and bar upstairs that can cater to a further 50 covers.”
